Stress is killing you. When you reach financial independence, you can choose to work in less stressful work. Health is the biggest wealth. Removing stress related to money, and your job will benefit your overall wellness.
Job
You work fearlessly. You have zero regard for the economic cycles, there could be a recession coming and many will be laid off. There are many things that are beyond your control. Your boss may not give you the promotion. Your colleague may backstab you. Job security is a thing of the past and having a job as your source of income is a bad idea.
Financial freedom allows you to enter a job without fear. You can take on new projects, gigs, and side hustles without fear. It gives you the ability to take on more risks. It let you explore other new areas without the concern about the pay. If money is not the reason for work, you can enjoy and find purpose in your work. It is fulfilling to work on something because you want to, not because you have to.
Stand up for your right
When you are not afraid of repercussions, and not concerned about consequences, you will be able to speak your mind. All the bullshit and unfair treatment I have seen in my past employment drive me to work towards financial freedom. Those are the reasons why I save and invest aggressively. I want to have the choice to choose where and how I work is my strongest motivation.
Once you are on your journey towards financial independence or financially independent, you can speak your mind when you see any injustice. This freedom is a wonderful feeling when you won’t need to back down from anyone.
Everyone is the same
All the richest men in the world may have more money than you but there is one thing that they have that is the same – time. When you have control over your time, you suddenly realize that you are on equal footing as everyone. You have the same rights and same opportunities. You have the confidence to pursue your passions. Your personal beliefs will bring you to the right place, opportunities will be made available to you.
Choose who you work with
You don’t need to work with colleagues from hell. Life is too short to spend time with people you don’t like. You may have a colleague who wants to answer all the work emails, hoard the limelight and you have nothing to shine for. You may have a colleague who steals your ideas and sell them as his own. When you are financially independent, you choose your team members and who you want to hang out with.
Family
When you are financially independent, you can spend more time with your children and aging parents. Our parents are getting old and the time that I can spend with them is limited. The children are growing up fast, before you know it, they don’t want to spend time with you anymore. The value of financial independence is even stronger with us as we are growing older, time is becoming more precious, and years fly faster when we are older. As parents, there is nothing more precious than spending time with your children and making the best out of it. If you don’t have children, make the most of your time with your family and friends.
